Online marketing company www.Cleverbug.com has established their company headquarters in Dublin and is to create 50 jobs. Inside Ireland 19 December
Bord na Móna is to create 91 jobs over the next three years. The jobs will be in high tech areas such as clean technology, carbon reduction and growing media. RTE 19 December
Craft and Knitwear company Carraig Donn has announced it is creating 150 jobs with the expansion of its retail, online and manufacturing business units. RTE 12 December
Emirates Airlines have announced 25 jobs at its Dublin office. The new positions are in sales, reservations, ticketing, finance, airport operations and cargo. Inside Ireland 7 December
Food/drink
Irish Distillers have announced the creation of 60 new jobs. 30 will be created at the company's plant in Midleton, while another 30 will be created at the company's bottling plant at Fox and Geese in Dublin. RTE 2 December
General
Over the next three years, 528 jobs will be created in 32 new high potential start-up companies which have been supported by Government through Enterprise Ireland in the third quarter of 2011. Business & Leadership 22 December
The unemployment rate in the third quarter of this year was 14.4%, up from 14.2% in the previous quarter. The CSO said the number of people at work fell by 2.5% or 46,000 over the previous 12 months to just over 1.8 million. RTE 12 December
Five companies collapsed in Ireland every day in 2011, according to business intelligence analyst Vision-Net. This year about 160 companies a month have been closing their doors with construction and real estate, among the areas hardest hit. 4,000 fewer companies are now operating, compared with 2008.
