The launch of a third-level National Franchise Centre centre in Limerick will create up to 150 start-ups and 500 jobs over the next five years. Inside Ireland 7 June
Over 300 new jobs are to be created by 17 start-up firms. The companies are in a wide range of sectors including cloud computing, online gaming, life sciences, biotechnology, financial services and sustainable energy. Music Generation, the U2 and Ireland Funds supported National Music Education Programme, is to create up to 30 new jobs in vocal and instrumental tuition in Louth, Mayo and Sligo. Inside Ireland 20 June
Retail
Tesco is to create over 500 new jobs over the next year.266 jobs will be in Naas, 110 each in Galway and Waterford, 90 in Mayo, 80 in Westmeath and 60 in Tipperary. The other jobs will be created at two locations in Dublin. Irish Independent 24 June
