LANDesk Software is establishing an international financial services centre in Dublin creating 15 high quality jobs for those with degrees in a business and/or professional accounting related qualification. Business & Leadership 14 November

Up to 150 jobs are to go as part of new cuts at the country’s three main airports at Dublin, Cork and Shannon. Irish Times 14 November

Bank of America has said it is seeking 100 redundancies at the MBNA credit card facility in Carrick-on-Shannon. RTE 7 November

Engineering/Construction

Up to 200 jobs are to be created in Waterford during the construction of a sports and conference complex at Waterford Institute of Technology. Irish Times 17 November

Aircraft maintenance company Dublin Aerospace has announced 150 new jobs at Dublin Airport over the next two years. It is currently looking for 45 skilled technicians and labourers. RTE 3 November

General

The current trends in the graduate jobs market mirror the uncertainty in the overall economy. Some sectors of the economy have been decimated by the recession – others are leading the domestic recovery. An IBEC survey of 205 firms predict that employment levels will be back at pre-crisis levels within five years, as exports grow and firms start exporting new services and products. Just over one-third of firms plan to increase employment in 2012. RTE 23 November

There is a huge demand for human resources in Australia, especially in Queensland and Western Australia, where up to 10,000 people are needed in the immediate future and up to 150,000 people within the next five years. There is a big need for engineers, doctors, nurses, project managers, welders, electricians and mechanics. Business Post 22 November

Official figures show that the number of people on the Live Register rose by 1,700 in November to reach 448,600. The Central Statistics Office also said that the unemployment rate rose slightly to 14.5% from 14.4% in October. RTE 30 November

20 new jobs are being created through the launch of a new concept called ‘skinflint’ from Irish restaurant Jo'burger in Temple Bar. Business & Leadership 9 November

Nando’s is opening its flagship restaurant in Dublin’s St Andrew Street creating 60 jobs. Business & Leadership 1 November

ICT

Telecoms software company Ammeon is creating 75 highly skilled jobs in Dublin and an additional nine at its UK subsidiary in Reading. The jobs are for software architects, senior software developers and business development specialists. Business & Leadership 28 November

IT consulting company Version 1, with offices in Dublin, Cork and Belfast has announced 90 new jobs over the next two years. RTE 28 November

Andor Technology, which develops and manufactures high-performance scientific digital cameras, plans to create 166 jobs. Irish Times 26 November

100 job vacancies have became available in the Irish microelectronic sector. The jobs have been posted on a new online jobs centre from the sector’s representative body Midas Ireland. Inside Ireland 23 November

69 high-end engineering jobs are to come on stream at microelectronics company ON Semiconductor in Limerick. Three other Limerick companies – Procad, EpiSensor and RescourceKraft – have also come together to create ten jobs. Irish Times 22 November

Software developer Misys is to set up a new R&D facility in Dublin, where 35 jobs in software engineering and software consultancy will come on stream. Irish Examiner 21 November

Up to 150 new jobs are to be created in Dundalk, where Prometric is establishing a global test development service business. RTE 14 November

Marine

70 research jobs are to be created in Cork with a new maritime commercial campus for Ringaskiddy. It is part of an alliance between University College Cork, Cork Institute of Technology and the Irish Naval Service. Inside Business 25 November

Cork Harbour Marina is to embark on an expansion programme which will create 32 full-time jobs and support up to 90 jobs directly and indirectly. Inside Business 1 November

Pharmaceutical

Winner of the NovaUCD 2011 Start-Up Award, pharmaceutical research and technologies company APC, plans to create 20 high-skill jobs at PhD level. Business & Leadership 18 November

Retail

Boots aims to open 25 new outlets across Ireland over the next three years, employing up to 400 people. Business & Leadership 18 November
