Enterprise Ireland’s mission is to accelerate the development of world-class Irish
companies to achieve strong positions in global markets resulting in increased
national and regional prosperity. Our 2011–2013 strategy is currently being
developed.
Enterprise Ireland is the Irish Government agency responsible for the
development and promotion of the Irish indigenous business sector. We work in
partnership with Irish companies to help them become world-class players and
build a sustainable competitive advantage in the global marketplace, leading to
significant growth in exports. The fundamental objective for Enterprise Ireland
in 2011–2013 is to drive export growth momentum and internationalisation in
what will be a more challenging environment for our client companies.
Enterprise Ireland’s two-year International Graduate Programme offers
graduates the opportunity to start their career with a fast-track international
perspective. Based in our overseas office network, graduates are required, after a
brief training period, to contribute to the success of emerging Irish companies in
rapidly changing international business environments. Gaining experience of a
broad range of sectors and industries, graduates conduct market research,
identify new markets and key buyers for Irish clients and manage events such as
market visits and trade fairs.
This opportunity is open to graduates of primary and postgraduate degrees in all
disciplines, including business, marketing, science, social sciences,
manufacturing, technology and engineering, who would like to make a career in
emerging Irish businesses. This challenging role requires individuals who are
highly motivated with the energy and enthusiasm to deliver projects on their
own initiative. An ability to network, build relationships and to communicate
clearly and effectively is essential. Fluency in a second language is required for
some locations and applicants with French, Spanish, Italian, German,
Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic and other European or
international languages are encouraged to apply.
Our comprehensive learning and development programme commences with a
two week induction programme in Dublin. This includes learning about the role,
the activities of our international office network and about the structure and
services of Enterprise Ireland. Together with business consulting, strategy, buyer
management, market research and project management skills building
modules. Attendance at International Markets Week forms part of the induction,
where you and an overseas EI Market Advisor will meet with client companies to
discuss their export sales strategies. Career development activities take place at
various times during the two-year programme designed to meet specific needs
identified through one to one coaching.
