The Higher Diploma in Business is structured as a conversion programme allowing students from non-business disciplines to develop and focus their career paths in the business environment with a view to gaining valuable business skills to complement existing skills sets and enhance their career opportunities. After completion the student will enter the workplace with multidisciplinary technical knowledge and skillset which can be utilised for the benefit of the organisation.
Graduates of the programme may also wish to pursue further studies in business at post graduate level. The Higher Diploma in Business will allow the students to gain a level 8 (NFQ) qualification in business with a further opportunity to progress to our level 9 (NFQ) Masters in Business programme.
Description: Do you need key business skills to develop your career? This program is designed to give you the key business skills to expand your skillset for working in any business environment and allow you become a hybrid professional. Organisation have created new business models in the light of COVID and with further convergence between sectors such as information technology and business, engineering and business, strong business skills are relevant in many sectors. You will acquire a business acumen to allow you to effectively contribute to the goals of a company. You will leave with a portfolio of attributes and skills in the following areas marketing, managing the operations, the finances of the business, human resource management, management skills understanding the regulatory environment and how to develop a strategy for the business.
Specifically, the programme will:
Equip the participant with the tools to understand the business environment to compliment their technical skills
Support the participants to develop their career beyond their technical discipline.
IT Requirements: Students on this course will be required to have a medium spec computer/laptop (i.e. able to run Win 10, an AV solution and Office comfortably. It should be able to use Wi-fi and camera in order to attend online classes, and use other software such as SPSS, Adobe Connect; e.g. Latitude 5510; Latitude 5410;

Entry requirements
Application for admission to this programme will be considered from graduates of an Ordinary Degree (NFQ level 7 or equivalent) with a GPA of 2.0 or above. Applicants must also successfully complete the bridging programme BSST H3888 Business Fundamentals.

Fee: €2,650.
An application fee of €50 must be paid at the time of online application. This fee is non-refundable.
If you are made an offer on an undergraduate or postgraduate course you will be required to pay an acceptance fee to secure your place, this fee will be offset against the course fee and is non-refundable.
