Business in Technology - Online

The first of its kind in the UK, this course has been created to meet the increasing demand for technology professionals to lead, influence and develop strategies for transformation and organisational growth.

The course is ideal for those experienced in technology or techled project roles who want to progress their careers in senior management and leadership.

Co-designed with industry, we have created a relevant and practical course to provide you with the skills employers are looking for. Built around a triangle of business understanding, human insights, and technology, the course offers three discrete awards: PGCert Business Analysis and Consulting; PGDip Transformation Management and Leadership; and MSc Business in Technology.

The course uses a mix of applied theory, practical teaching and real-world project-based learning to develop the business acumen and leadership skills required to manage and lead transformation and sustainable change. This course encourages collaboration providing the opportunity to explore ideas, network, and learn with like-minded people.

Subjects taught

Modules for the PG Cert
The PG Cert in Business Analysis and Consulting is a business analysis course consisting of four modules, covering stakeholder management and practical business consulting skills.
• Business Analysis and Consulting (15 credits)
• Stakeholder and Client Management (15 credits)
• Tech and Data Science in Consulting (15 credits)
• Consultancy in Practice (15 credits)

Modules for PG Dip
The PG Dip in Transformation Management and Leadership consists of eight modules in total – everything included in the PG Cert, plus four additional modules centred on strategic transformation, tech operations and transformation leadership.

• Transformation in Practice (15 Credits)

Modules for MSc
The Business in Technology MSc is made up of all modules in the PG Cert and PG Dip, plus an advanced study of business research skills and management of complex projects and a final project worth 30 credits.

• Transformation Consultancy Project (30 Credits)

Entry requirements

Standard entry conditions
To apply to our postgraduate taught programmes, you must meet the University’s General Entrance Requirements and any course-specific requirements.

Entry Requirements
To enrol in the programme, applicants will require:
Either
• a second class honours degree or better from a university of the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland, or from a recognised national awarding body, or from an institution of another country which is recognised as being of an equivalent standard.

Or
• an equivalent standard (normally 50%) in a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma; postgraduate certificate or postgraduate diploma or an approved alternative qualification.

And
• evidence of competence in written and spoken English (GCSE grade C or equivalent).
