Economics or Finance - Research
The MLitt Programme extends over a minimum of two years. In the first year (commencing September) students must register fulltime and follow the programme of the MA in Economics or the MA in Finance.
Entry to the programme normally requires students to have obtained at least a 2.I in Economics or Finance in their primary degree. For international students whose first language is not English, IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent) is required. Prospective students should make direct contact with research active academics in advance of making a research proposal.
MHH04 MLitt by Research 2 years Full-time
MHH05 MLitt by Research 3 years Part-time
In general, there are two levels of fees payable. EU students from EU countries including Ireland pay a subsidised level of fees for both taught courses and research programmes. Tuition fees for students from outside the EU are not subsidised and are thus somewhat higher than for EU students.
In the Department we examine fundamental questions of economics, finance and accounting, developing theoretical models to better understand how economies and their components function. We use quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques to test these theories and to analyse observed behaviour.
