Programme Overview
Central to the long-term success of any organisation, strategy defines direction and creates scope to gain competitive advantage. It is what elevates truly extraordinary leaders above merely ordinary ones by enabling them to develop and implement effective business strategies while maintaining motivation, innovation and vision in their people.

The programme provides participants with the insight and understanding needed to lead organisations in a complex global business environment.
The focus on Strategy, Development and Innovation provides the knowledge and skills required to reach the highest level, whether in a commercial or public sector context. It offers business managers and directors with a versatile, strategic toolkit to bring coherence and direction to the actions and decisions of the organisation.

Programme Structure
This programme is delivered over a series of 6 two-day workshops within a 10–month period. Workshops are held on Fridays and Saturdays to minimise interference with busy work schedules. The programme structure is designed in order to facilitate busy work/lifestyles and to assist participants integrating study into their working lives while enhancing their contribution as a member of the management team.

Entry requirements
Participants should have at least 5 years management experience and hold a primary degree or equivalent professional qualification. Consideration will also be given to applicants who do not hold a primary degree but whose depth of industry/organisational experience, deems them suitable participants.

Application Procedure
A completed application form, digital photograph and copy of transcripts for all university-level degrees (if applicable and excluding those taken at UCD) will be required. A telephone interview with the Programme Director may form part of the application process. The interview helps determine whether the programme is the most appropriate educational solution for the applicant.

Assessments and Workload
This programme involves no examinations – instead the emphasis throughout is on the practical application of knowledge to benefit you and your organisation. Assessment workload is spread across the duration of the programme to allow you to combine learning with work and life demands. In order to accelerate learning, between modules participants are expected to complete assigned reading from texts, cases and articles. All continuous assessment is completed by participants either individually or in groups and this is set out in the study guide for each module. Some modules require pre-coursework in addition to the post-coursework which is set for each taught modules.

Attendance:
The diploma programme is demanding and participants should be free of other responsibilities on the days of the workshops. 100% attendance is required.
We would encourage you to check the module dates listed on the overview page to ensure your availability. If you do miss a module due to unexpected circumstances, there is no longer an option to take that module with another intake of the programme. You will be required to complete an additional assignment as well as the module assignment. Full details on the module assignment as well as the additional assignment will be shared with the participant.

Module 6: hurs - Sat December 8th - 10th 2022. This will be a LIVE Virtual Module (1pm – 4.30pm).
Fees
The fee for the 2019 intake of €7,945 & €7,547* (*UCD Business Alumni discount) is a comprehensive cost that includes your tuition, all course-related materials, lunches and refreshments while on campus, access to the UCD Libraries etc. There are no additional overheads to be incurred. We offer staged payments and there is no interest charged for choosing this option.

What is the MSc Pathway?
Our MSc in Business (Leadership & Management Practice) is based around a framework of ten selected diploma programmes. By completing any three of these ten diplomas, within a recommended 5-year timeframe, you will earn 90 credits (the national standard for a Masters Qualification) and will be conferred with the qualification of MSc Business (Leadership & Management Practice) accredited & awarded by UCD at NFQ Level 9.
