Veterinary Public Health - Food Regulatory Affairs - Online

Food regulatory affairs integrates science, law and food/health policy as applied to the regulation of the entire food chain, from pre-harvest to the consumer. International perspectives on food regulatory affairs have become increasingly important, particularly since the formation of the World Trade Organisation and the international acceptance of Codex Alimentarius standards.

You will develop knowledge and understanding of legislative, policy and scientific aspects of food regulatory affairs, as well as acquire skills to disseminate and implement knowledge in practice. European and global experts in science, law, economics and policy contribute to the course.

This programme is designed for individuals already employed or who wish to develop careers in the food sector, regulatory agencies, government departments and trade organisation with excellent employment opportunities in government (national and international) and non-government organisations, and in the UK, European and international agri-food industry.

The award is granted jointly between Ulster University and University College Dublin.

Work placement / study abroad
Full-time students will be advised to explore the possibility of taking a short placement in food companies and Ulster University will facilitate such placements for students who are based in Northern Ireland.
