Strategic Workforce Planning
What is this course about?
The aim of this course is to provide a holistic and contextual awareness of workforce planning and the importance of alignment between strategic and operational objectives. It enables participants to build a proactive approach based on understanding the objectives and why they are important. The objective is to provide more informed and appropriate decisions. Participants will develop an appreciation for why decisions are taken, allowing them to understand better and respond with plans that match supply and demand. Greater awareness of the contextual factors combined with a proactive approach will support the development of sustainable models and solutions.
Learning Outcomes
• Develop a systematic knowledge and understanding of the external and internal factors/forces affecting workforce planning in organisations.
• Develop a critical awareness of labour market forces, trends, legislative frameworks and people analytics. Present and defend possible solutions to identifiable gaps in demand and supply of labour.
• Display an in-depth knowledge of data, models and systems that support a whole of system approach to succession and WFP challenges. Providing possible solutions and contributions to better attraction, retention and turnover challenges across an organisation.
