postgradireland fair about the fair

The postgradireland Further Study Fair takes place on 10 February 2016

The postgradireland Further Study Fair is Ireland’s official further study event for students, graduates and people returning to full-time and part-time education in Ireland north and south.

If you're considering postgraduate study, either taught or research, then the research starts now: into what – and where – you'd like to study and, more fundamentally, what type of further study meets your needs.

The Fair features advice on all the different elements to consider before choosing your postgraduate course. There will be a range of expert led seminars to discuss every element of a postgraduate course, from distance learning to conversion courses and everything in between.

70 postgraduate course providers from Ireland, North and South, the UK, Europe and beyond will attend this year's Fair.

Research Zone

Did you know that you can complete a postgraduate research programme in partnership with a graduate employer? The Irish Research Council will be hosting first ever Research Zone at this year’s Fair, packed with all the information you need about postgraduate research programmes. This will give you the opportunity to discover which research programmes are currently open for applications. The Research Zone will also feature:

  • Information on postgraduate scholarships open to researchers across all disciplines
  • Live interactive content to explore the diverse employment opportunities research can provide you with
  • Experts on hand all day to discuss the benefits of undertaking postgraduate research, including the transferable skills you will develop.

Teaching Zone

Are you interested in becoming a teacher, in either Ireland or further afield? If so, you can’t afford to miss our exclusive Teaching Zone at this year’s Fair! This will give you the chance to meet with institutions providing teaching postgraduate courses and give you all the information you need to make an informed decision about becoming a qualified teacher (including information on TEFL and TESL).

Funding

We understand that funding is a big issue facing students when it comes to postgraduate studies, so we have gathered a vast amount of information on the different funding options you are entitled to. If you’re interested in taught postgraduate programmes, make sure to speak with SUSI about the grants that you can apply for. If you want to undertake a research postgraduate programme, speak with the Irish Research Council about the scholarships they fund, which are available across all disciplines.

The postgradireland Further Study Fair is for students from any discipline!

Make the most of your day and plan ahead
