Careers in Science & Maths at Susquehanna International Group Limited

About Us: Have you got game?

Game theory rings true in everything we do. We’re big on competition, strategy, and managing risk – just like great gamers. We are problem solvers who analyse the financial markets to identify profitable trading opportunities. Raise your game and explore the opportunities with SIG.

SIG is a global quantitative trading firm, founded 30 years ago by a group of friends from Philadelphia who were interested in the financial markets and decision making games like poker. Our European headquarters was established in Dublin 17 years ago and is now home to 450+ employees. SIG is one of the largest privately-held financial institutions in the world. We have offices all around the globe and trade an extensive range of financial products. Building virtually all of our own trading technology from scratch, we are a leading and innovative company in high-performance, low latency trading.

Graduate opportunities

We offer internships and graduate roles across Trading, Technology, Quantitative Research, Operations, and Market Intelligence.

  • Assistant Trader (AT) Programme – Our trading internship is a 10-week summer programme, designed to expose you to the working environment that you can expect if you return to SIG as a full-time Assistant Trader. Our AT internship is the best route into the AT Graduate Programme. Students who start their career at SIG learn what it’s like to work in a trading environment through a combination of SIG’s classroom education and impactful work on our trading desks. During your internship you will participate in daily classes with senior traders. You will learn about options, poker, and game theory, and play mock trading games to help you interpret the uncertainty in the markets and develop a rigorous analytical approach to your decision making.
  • Technology Associate Programme - Design, build, maintain and support event driven systems that are fundamental to success in the changing marketplace. The core component of the software development programme includes a three month visit to our global head office in Philadelphia. Technology Associates participate in classroom sessions and technical rotations, working with experienced engineers on the development, delivery, support and enhancements of our trading systems and infrastructure.
  • Trading Operations Analyst Programme - Our Trading Operations Analysts are embedded in various rotations within SIG’s financial operations teams to gain in-depth knowledge of key business areas such as trade support, trading operations, settlements, equity finance and risk. The nine month programme also incorporates classroom training sessions focused on developing company-specific knowledge and technical skills, in both our home office and our global head office in Philadelphia.

Application process

We recruit on a rolling basis and strongly encourage early applications. Our interview process is challenging, but is not another maths test. Our focus is on exploring your thought process, not just getting the right answers. We want to get to know you better so you’ll always deal with a member of our team, either over the phone or in person.
