I graduated from GMIT with a BSc in Physics and Instrumentation in 2011 and joined Wayfair shortly after graduation. My part time experience in hospitality during college drew me into a more customer facing environment which I really enjoyed. Initially I started as a Customer Service Consultant dealing with day to day issues in relation to customer orders. After 2 years I was promoted to Quote Specialist which essentially deals with higher value orders and business orders. I get to use my German language skills every day dealing with German speaking suppliers and customers. I am now working in a Team Lead role to provide support to the Business Account Management team, while continuing to work closely with customers and our Sales & Service Consultants.
During the first couple of months everyone in the office instantly made the work less challenging by kindly offering help whenever I needed it which follows the helpful and friendly culture within the office. Now in my role I provide regular help and guidance to new members of the team.
Every month every team will get a company paid night out, which can be events from a dinner night out to a night at karaoke!’
