Since joining in 2012 as a graduate electrical engineer within the Building Engineering team in St. Albans, I have worked on a range of interesting and diverse projects in the UK and internationally. Much of this work involves using the latest BIM modelling software to produce 3D models for design, co-ordination and clash detection.
In 2014, I was fortunate enough to relocate to Dublin to help form the basis of what has become a fast growing Building Engineering Team, working on some keynote projects in the Irish market.
The first project I worked on at AECOM was an iconic development in the heart of London’s West End, and now I have three very varied projects in the Irish market, including the new European Head Quarters of a Multinational Social Networking Provider.
I have completed the AECOM GDP and have found it highly beneficial with regards my development as a professional engineer. While working out of the St. Albans office I was part of “The Engineers Network” and part of the Building Excellence Team for Learning + Development, I have utilised this experience to set up the Dublin “Office Professional Network”. Such networks within AECOM allow for staff not only to be guided through their development but also allow them to guide the training themselves.
The offices and the teams I have worked in have been incredibly friendly and patient.
