The programme is an incredible opportunity to gain practical work experience within a professional working environment. The academic component of the programme was really important for my understanding of international marketing and the significance of cultural awareness in business relationships, as I had not studied this previously.
I worked on many exciting projects throughout my two year placement with Tourism Ireland, including organising a Global Greenings campaign in Denmark and accompanying various Nordic media to the Island of Ireland. I developed strong communication and project management skills as a result.
The programme allowed me to identify my area of niche interest, PR and communication, and since completing the programme I have been offered a full time position with Tourism Ireland.
