As part of my Bachelor of Business Studies degree with French in UL I undertook an eight-month co-operative placement in the Tax department of RSM (formerly Baker Tilly Ryan Glennon). At the end of which, I was delighted to accept a position to join the firm’s graduate programme.
Working in RSM allows you to get a wide range of experience no matter what department you join. In the Tax department I get to work with a diverse range of clients and have gained experience in a number of the different areas of tax ranging from completing an international company’s corporation tax return to working on different tax consultancy cases. The variety of experience you receive means no day or case is ever the same.
Another aspect which is enjoyable about working in RSM is that everyone is very approachable. Whatever question you may have, people are always willing to take the time to listen and help. There is also a lot of support for trainees which is really beneficial especially when studying for exams. Everyone understands what you’re going through and are willing to support you in whatever way they can.
