PwC Republic of Ireland
I completed a Bachelor of Commerce before achieving a Masters in accounting in NUI Galway. I had the opportunity to meet a number of PwC employees at campus events and they were excellent advocates of the firm and this was what encouraged me to apply for the Graduate Programme. I was offered a position in PwC as part of the graduate recruitment programme in 2015. I always knew PwC would be a fantastic place to work and now that I am here, I know that I was right.
PwC is an excellent place to work and has provided me with invaluable opportunities to learn and develop my skills. I work within the Assurance practice, an area that is interesting and always challenging. Working within Assurance has enabled me to gain insights and experience in many different industries and companies. I have worked with clients abroad and alongside overseas PwC offices which has added to my love of travel. Teamwork is a vital part of my job and an area that I really enjoy, as I am always meeting new people within the firm and developing new relationships.
As I had a Masters in Accounting prior to joining PwC, I had some of my professional exams already completed. For my remaining exams, the support that I have received from PwC and all of my managers and colleagues has been excellent. There are always study skills sessions and extra lectures and seminars for anyone completing exams which I find really helpful. One of the reasons that I joined PwC was due to their reputation of having an extremely high rate of exam success.
While I am learning new things every day, I am also developing my social and professionals skills within PwC and working with a global network of PwC offices. It really has been the opportunity of a lifetime.
