I joined the Communications team in Head Office after completing 3 months of store, warehouse and regional training. After working on different projects in both PR and CSR, I found my niche in social media and took on responsibility for our social platforms in February 2015. The highlight of my programme was working on our Ladyball campaign. In order to launch our sponsorship with the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, we created a fake product that deliberately sparked the debate of female sport in Ireland – and internationally. I created all the social content for the campaign. We won “Best PR Campaign” in the All Ireland Marketing Awards this past June – it doesn’t get much better than that!
My favourite thing about working for Lidl is working in such a fast paced, innovative environment with an extremely talented and hard working team. We say that our people are our biggest asset and it’s true – I’m constantly learning from my peers and I believe we do have the best people in the business.
I’m proud to work for Lidl because the company invests so much time in its people. I would recommend the programme to anyone who is looking to challenge themselves and who is willing to give 100%. Not only do you learn so much about the company and the industry but you also learn so much about yourself. I would advise anyone starting the programme that you get out what you put in – there are no limits!
