I think that my current project, working on the #WeAreLidl event is one that stands out in particular. Working on the #WeAreLidl event is particularly interesting because it has never been done before. The event, which is for all Lidl employees, is focusing on the ways Lidl looks after its employees so that they can look after our customers. This focus is giving me the chance to directly engage with my colleagues to cement who Lidl is and our vision.
Since starting in Lidl I think I have helped change certain perceptions that store colleagues have of Head Office. During my time in store, I was able to build strong relationships with my store teams, let them know the type of work we do and show them that we want to understand their daily operations and challenges. I feel that I have helped bridge the gap and improved the relationship and understanding between Store and Head Office colleagues.
Lidl colleagues make you feel welcome, give you responsibilities, push you to challenge yourself and take time out to invest in your development. You are always challenging yourself, learning new skills and meeting new people.
I chose the Lidl Graduate Management Development Programme because it’s not like any other graduate programme out there. Despite being hired into one particular stream, the programme gives you the unique opportunity to experience all areas of the business operate.
