From the milkround process I felt Brenson Lawlor was the perfect training firm for me. Having met various staff and partners through the interview process I found them very welcoming and friendly which put me at ease. When I started I found that senior staff, including partners, were very approachable and always took the time to answers any questions I had and help with any problems. There’s absolutely no ‘us and them’ here in Brenson Lawlor.
Even though my role is that of an audit senior, over the last three and half years I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of different jobs including accounts, audit, due diligence work and tax assignments. I have also dealt with clients who are involved in a wide variety of different industries including, community pharmacy, nursing homes, hotels, charities, manufacturing companies, credit unions and the construction industry.
Working in audit means I spend the majority of my time out of the office and working on a client’s site. I found that as a trainee I was entrusted with a lot of responsibility early on and this ensured I had the best possible opportunities to develop my skills and increase my knowledge base. The variety of work I have completed and the support I have gotten within the company has been beneficial in terms of reaching my qualification as a Chartered Accountant.
