I studied accounting at University College Cork (UCC). In third year I did my work placement in PwC and I thought there was a really nice atmosphere and it was a really good learning environment.

I work in assurance. We look at the items in a company's financial statements and see if they’re a true reflection of what the company actually holds. What I enjoy most is the variety of all the different clients you get to work with and how many different teams you get to work on. You get to meet to meet and collaborate with so many different people across so many areas.

Everyone is really friendly and helpful. When I was doing my exams there were so many people who took time out of their day to help me and I wasn't expecting that at all. I thought people would be too busy! I really couldn’t believe how down to earth and approachable all the managers and partners are and how much you actually deal with them on a day to day basis.

One of the really great things about PwC is the global network. I got the opportunity to work in Canada in PwC Montreal for two months which was an amazing way to get experience with new clients and meet new people. I’m also going to be involved in the training of the incoming associates because it’s something I expressed an interest in. There’s so much you can do in if you put yourself forward!

There are so many young people who work here, we all have a similar mindset. At PwC, I’ve met some of my best friends.

I sometimes work overtime depending on the time of the year. I can't wait to use those extra hours and go travelling as soon as I finish my exams! We get Flexible Fridays during the summer too which are great. I love being able to get away for a long week-end. The 3pm finish makes such a difference!
