Production Process Developer, Mivan Marine Ltd, Co Antrim

Mivan Marine Ltd, manufactures and fits out high end joinery packages. The facility at our site in Antrim consists of 110,000 sq. ft. factory space.  Most of our Interior Contracts are for fit outs in London (56% of Turnover in 2015) or in International ports in the Marine Sector (46% Turnover 2015). A typical contract will involve designing, manufacturing and overseeing onsite installation


The aim of this project is to develop an intelligent data collection system, interfacing to both the existing Access / Excel systems and the Coins MRP system to provide real-time data availability for management decisions. The project will also integrate the production process, enhance the performance metrics of the organization and provide accurate order reporting.
Reporting to the Company Supervisor, you will be employed by Mivan Marine Ltd to lead this InterTradeIreland FUSION project in partnership with Dundalk Institute of Technology (DKIT).  In addition, you will have the opportunity to gain a fully funded Postgraduate Diploma in Business & Management from the William J. Clinton Leadership Institute at Queen’s University, Belfast whilst carrying out your role.

Main Duties

  • To carry out the tasks outlined in the project workplan and liaise with your Company and Academic Supervisors on an ongoing basis.
  • To convene and service monthly technical meetings with the core project team (Graduate, Company Supervisor and Academic Supervisor)
  • To report formally on a quarterly basis on progress with the workplan to a Project Management Group (PMG), this includes the assigned FUSION Consultant representing InterTradeIreland.
  • To train staff so that the new technology is fully transferred and embedded in the company
  • To work closely with the academic partner and travel to the academic institute as required.
  • Any other duties which might fall within the general ambit of the post.  



Candidates must possess

  • Min 2.2 Degree in Computer Science OR a Min 2.2 Degree in Manufacturing Engineering/ Production Engineering/ Construction Engineering to include an IT Module.
  • Be eligible to work in Northern Ireland and to travel across the Island of Ireland (Both Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland) as required


  • Knowledge of Process Measurement and Control, Software I/O or Data Analytics an advantage. 
  • Prior work experience in a design / manufacturing or QC/QA role.
  • Working knowledge of Autocad, Excel and Access. 
  • Knowledge of HTML5 / CSS3 PHP and MySQL an advantage. 
  • Some Customer service experience. Construction Industry / Design would be an advantage.
