Information Technology Division

The Technology division sets enterprise-wide standards that are flexible and customizable for the specific needs of AIG. It enables AIG to deliver business strategies through efficient world-class IT s services, while ensuring the necessary IT risk management and security measures are in place.

Career Paths within the Division for the 6 month placement:

Business Operations Strategy: participants will serve as liaisons between the business and IT to gather requirements, recommend solutions, manage delivery, and implement broad technology solutions that meet business needs.
Roles: Project Coordinator, Business Analyst, Junior Account Manager

Core Technologists: participants will deliver, maintain, and improve technical services and applications critical to the business.
Roles: Infrastructure Engineer, Application Developer, Database Administrator

Business Intelligence: participants will analyze business needs and IT capabilities to identify and develop data-driven solutions to resolve business challenges while maintaining high quality data to enable efficient extraction of key insights that that drive vital business decisions.
Role: BI Technical Analyst, Data Scientist

Customer Focus and Enterprise Protection: participants will monitor and manage issues and risks regarding critical technology assets and mitigate disruptions to user-experience.
Roles: Cyber Security Analyst, End User Support, Digital User Interface Designer

Placement Program Description

Joining the AIG Placement Program is a great way to enhance your business acumen and gain insight into the finance function within a large corporation, as well as learn more about the insurance industry. Placement students are placed into substantive roles that have an immediate and integral impact on the business.

The Program lasts 6 months and is intended for students in their penultimate year of education. Placement students will join one of the areas of the above Technology Division and have the opportunity to work in a diverse, global and collegial environment. In addition to the experience acquired on the job, you will have the opportunity to participate in learning seminars, volunteer activities and networking receptions.

Successful Placement students will be offered full-time Analyst positions in AIG’s Technology Analyst Program (TAP) to join in July 2017, where they will join a 2-year rotational program that will expose them to three different areas of Technology prior to receiving a permanent group assignment. Training on the Graduate program is hosted in New York for up to 3 weeks.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum grade point average of 2.1
  • Pursuant of a bachelor’s or master’s degree

Preferred:

AIG seeks candidates who have demonstrated outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement, possess strong analytical, quantitative and interpersonal skills, and are enthusiastic about and committed to the insurance industry.
