Working as part of the operations team based in our global headquarters in Craigavon, you will be responsible for overseeing and performing molecular biological analyses as required and to assist in the daily, efficient running of the Almac Diagnostics Laboratories.
As part of a busy team within a rapidly growing organisation, operating within a challenging industry you will benefit from the numerous personal and professional developmental opportunities available throughout the Almac group.
We have multiple positions available across three departments in our Diagnostics division; Assay Development and Validation Unit, Biomarker Discovery Unit and Clinical Testing Unit.
The working hours for these positions are two rotating shifts: two weeks 7am - 3.30 pm followed by 2 weeks 10am -6.30pm.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Biology, Molecular Biology or related life sciences discipline
- Experience in performing and coordinating genomic tests in a regulated laboratory environment
- Integral working knowledge of high throughput genomic technologies, in particular DNA microarray, qPCR and/or Next Generation Sequencing.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in all work undertaken
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
- Ability to manage timescales
- Proven ability to organise, plan and prioritise tasks within a high volume, varied workload
- Ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (to include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)

- Post-graduate qualification with chemical, physical or biological science as the major subject
- Supervisory experience in a regulated (e.g. ISO 17025, ISO 15189, CPA, GCP) laboratory environment
- Experience in implementing new genomic technologies
- Experience in troubleshooting laboratory techniques
