Verify Technologies is a software company that provides web based process automation solutions to the Food, Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Hazardous waste management sectors. These include Traceability, HACCP and other Quality and risk management processes. Verify also provide Electronic Batch Record (EBR) and Electronic Device History Record (eDHR) management systems for the Medical Device and Pharmaceutical sectors

THE ROLE (FUSION Project) - 12 Month Contract - FU5043

This project will create an automated customer portal 'configuration engine' to replicate the process of selecting a customer’s products features. Users will select product options in any order, specifying those that are most important to them and the automatic product configuration engine creates a custom offering along with an appropriate quote. Such a product will allow Verify to streamline the entire configure, price and quote process thus leading to an increase in sales as lack of automated customer activation is currently a limiting factor.

 

Reporting to the Company Supervisor, you will be employed by Verify Technologies to lead this InterTradeIreland FUSION project in partnership with Ulster University.  As part of this role you will be required to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma in Business & Management, from the William J. Clinton Leadership Institute at Queen’s University, Belfast. This is fully funded by InterTradeIreland. The skills learned through the Diploma will enhance your personal, professional and managerial capabilities and will provide you with the necessary and valuable business skills to help you undertake your project role.  Main Duties

  • To carry out the tasks outlined in the project workplan and liaise with your Company and Academic Supervisors on an ongoing basis.

  • To convene and service monthly technical meetings with the core project team (Graduate, Company Supervisor and Academic Supervisor)

  • To report formally on a quarterly basis on progress with the workplan to a Project Management Group (PMG), this includes the assigned FUSION Consultant representing InterTradeIreland.

  • To train staff so that the new technology is fully transferred and embedded in the company

  • To work closely with the academic partner and travel to the academic institute as required.

  • To undertake the Postgraduate Diploma in Business & Management, attending course modules and workshops.

  • Any other duties which might fall within the general ambit of the post.

    

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • Candidates must possess

  • To hold or have been awarded a B.Eng or BSc in an Engineering/Computing/IT discipline by June 2017.

  • Legally permitted to work in the EU.

 

Desirable


 

  • Honours Degree classification: 2:1 in Computing/IT.

  • Work experience of 2+ years in an IT environment

  • Significant professional experience in .NET and/or other high level software languages

  • Solid understanding of high level computing languages

  • Experience in working with databases

  • Demonstrable experience in software development

  • Experience in deploying commercial software applications.

As this post requires the applicant to travel on official duty, It is preferred the successful candidate have access to a form of transport which will enable them to fulfil their responsibilities
