Graduate Location – Ireland: Mayo

Graduate Location – Overseas: Melbourne, Australia

Role Purpose

As a graduate in Portwest you will conduct market research of potential new territory markets in Australia and New Zealand which have not yet been researched / marketed to and gain a better understanding of local trading conditions. You will use this research to develop a sales development plan which will then be implemented with the sales team. You will map out the competitive landscape and build a pipeline of potential customers and begin to build relationships. You will represent Portwest at trade shows and exhibitions in Australia and New Zealand and using the feedback you receive will work with the product development team. You will look after both local and international marketing collateral and increase awareness of the brand internationally.

Graduate Tasks / Key Deliverables

The graduate’s main tasks will include the following:

  1. Conduct market research of potential new territory markets in Australia and New Zealand which have not yet been researched / marketed to and gain a better understanding of local trading conditions
  2. Analyse the research results and write a sales development plan
  3. Implement the sales development plan with the sales team
  4. Find and build a prospect list of potential customers, make contact with them and start the sales process
  5. Attend and represent Portwest at local trade shows in potential new territory markets
  6. Advice the produce development team on changes, improvements and new products for the product ranges
  7. Attend sales conferences and make a presentation at the annual sales conference
  8. Conduct local and international marketing activities to strengthen, grow and increase the awareness of the brand
