Automotive Approvals Engineer

If so, maybe a career as an Automotive Approvals Engineer might suit you because we are currently recruiting for Automotive Engineers based in Santry, Dublin on a permanent contract.

The duties will include, the carrying out of Vehicle evaluations, auditing work, attending meetings and the maintenance of appropriate documentation of all aspects of the work undertaken. Automotive Engineers are required to represent themselves in a professional manner and presentation for all engagements.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Liaising with appointed manufacturers regarding applications for approvals 
  • Carrying out vehicle evaluations 
  • Auditing work 
  • Producing Approval Certificates 
  • Participating in the development of new IT tools 
  • Participating in job-related training courses 
  • Attending client and stakeholder meetings 
  • Participate in cross-functional teams 
  • Producing and interpret reports 
  • Assisting in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality of service to ensure client satisfaction 
  • Participate in cross-functional teams
  • Produce and interpret routine and ad hoc reports including monthly activity reports
  • Participate in job-related training courses
  • Follow all environmental, Health & Safety rules and procedures and participate in safety and environmental activities in order to improve the workplace for all
  • Assist in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality of service delivery to ensure client satisfaction
  • Fully aware of the Applus Integrity Program

Qualifications/Experience/Competencies Required:

  • A strong interest in the Automotive Sector
  • Relevant third level qualification – Specifically a Mechanical Engineering Degree (Minimum HETAC Level 7 or equivalent)
  • Ability to engage with all stakeholders and members of the public in a professional and courteous manner
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Flexibility regarding travel is necessary
  • Good computer skills especially in MS Excel and Word

Qualifications/Experience/Competencies Desired:

  • A knowledge of the relevant legislation and regulations governing the activities outlined above
  • Experience or training in vehicle components, systems and approvals
