HR/Compliance Intern

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force on the 25th May 2018, replacing the existing data protection framework under the EU Data Protection Directive. LTTS has just started their GDPR project and are now seeking an intern to work with the project team on preparing LTTS for GDPR implementation. This is an extremely topical subject at present and therefore offers an Intern a fantastic opportunity to learn all about GDPR and its requirements. 

Tasks:

The following are some of the tasks you will be undertake as part of this project:

  • Conduct an overview of processing operations across departments (with assistance from each department)
  • Make an inventory of all personal data held at LTTS
  • Review the way we currently process data 
  • Raising awareness of GDPR within the organisation 
  • Assisting the Training department in scheduling on-line training for all employees
  • Assisting the DPO in designing a more comprehensive higher level GDPR training to be delivered to Data Controllers and those processing personal data
  • Identifying third party disclosures
  • Looking at personal privacy rights 
  • Assisting in drafting new policies and procedures 
  • Implementing the new requirements 
  • Rollout 

Person Specification:

  • Working towards a business related subject, preferably human resources related discipline
  • Excellent PC Skills – Word, Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Outlook
  • Strong inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Problem solving skills – ability to think outside the box to achieve the best solution
  • Work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Friendly and approachable and recognises the importance of confidentiality
  • Flexible attitude with an ability to multitask
