Quality Assurance Officer - Drover foods
Drover Foods is a family owned business based in Wexford. It currently employs about 60 people. It was founded in 1981 as an IQF raw sausage producer and started cooking sausage in 1994. We now classify ourselves as a B2B (Business to Business) supplier of food ingredients meat & non meat into the UK sandwich, pizza and ready-meal markets.
Description of role:
Responsibility for the day to day monitoring of the production process. To work as part of a team and to be proactive in the pursuit of continuous quality and process improvement.
Reporting directly to the Technical Manager the successful candidate will primarily be responsible for:
- Implementation and maintenance of BRC, HACCP and GMP systems
- Cross functional team work to meet project targets
- Monitoring and reporting of quality standards to the management team
- Implement, monitor and review corrective actions
- Monitoring of the production process in line with factory HACCP & SOPs
- Raw materials inspection
- Traceability compliance
Skills and knowledge requirements:
The ideal candidate should have a third level qualification (Diploma / Degree) in relevant Science subject and/or have relevant prior experience in a similar position within the Food Industry.
The successful individual will have good communication & skills, be confident, innovative and flexible, have excellent organisational, planning and time-management skills, attention to detail and awareness of quality standards. A good knowledge of the food industry and experience with sausage processes is desirable.
