QC Technician

Description and Duties

  • To utilise experience, skill & training to manage any QA issues or crises arising on their shift;
  • Ensuring the effective implementation of HACCP systems;
  • To perform scheduled Microbiological/Allergen testing on-line;
  • To perform scheduled Microbiological Sampling Plan to be sent to external testing;
  • Responsible for controlling the QC Lab Supplies stocking and ordering supplies when necessary.; On-line QC Checks and Procedure Implementation;
  • Non-Conformance Reporting & Corrective Action Implementation;
  • Relevant Quality training for operators;
  • Supervision of cleaning of production lines;
  • Responsible for the completion and follow-up of QC Checks;
  • Checking of incoming and outgoing raw materials and finished product screening procedures and documentation;
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining personal hygiene standards on-line;
  • Responsible for checking that housekeeping and cleaning is in accordance with documented procedures for all areas of the plant;
  • Checking that all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are being adhered to;
  • Responsible for checking recipes, mixing procedures and documentation;
  • Completion of Internal System Audits when requested;
  • Responsible for checking packing procedures and documentation;
  • Responsible for checking storage and despatch procedures and documentation;
  • Responsible for final product analysis as per the QC schedule and immediate reporting of any non-conformance;
  • Responsible for ensuring that all OPRs are in control and immediate reporting of any non-conformances;
  • Ensuring full completion of all records;
  • Any other project or tasks as assigned by the Technical Officer and/or Technical Manager;

Knowledge and Skills

  • Minimum of one year industry experience in a food manufacturing organisation
  • GMP experience is required
  • Experience with GFSI recognised standards - is a must
