Emissions Monitoring Technician
About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a trainee or MCERTS Level 1 Stack Emissions Monitoring Technician to join an enthusiastic team delivering environmental stack emissions monitoring to a wide range of clients in Ireland with the UK’s number one testing, inspection and compliance company.

We are one of the largest, established MCERTS accredited stack emissions monitoring consultancies, providing nationwide coverage in the UK and Ireland from six fully resourced regional offices, and have a proven track record of monitoring in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and India.
Due to continued growth in Ireland, we are currently recruiting an Air & Emissions Monitoring Professional at our Naas, Kildare office. The key purpose of the role is to undertake monitoring of stack emissions from industrial processes, primarily to determine compliance with EPA & NIEA Licence / Permit requirements and obligations at client premises across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
- Under the supervision of an MCERTS L2 Team Leader, undertake emissions monitoring to documented procedures, published standards and protocols and industry best practice.
- Prepare technical reports for the client, ensuring high attention to detail
- Work in a safe manner avoiding hazards to oneself and colleagues, following SOCOTEC UK Ltd’s Health & Safety Policies and customers’ site rules
- Undertake any maintenance, calibration, or kit preparation tasks, as required
We’re looking for a professional, dynamic and motivated individual with ability to work as part of a busy emissions team. Applicants should preferably be qualified to degree standard in an environmental/scientific discipline, and have an interest to develop a career in stack emissions monitoring using manual sampling and instrumental analysing techniques. The role will involve both working outdoors and at heights on occasions at a variety of industrial locations, which can be physically and mentally challenging.
Communicative, organised, flexible and committed, you must also have:
- A full, clean driving licence
- A desire to learn and progress
- Customer awareness and a focus on service delivery
