Our paid, one-week Inspire internship is your chance to get a head-start in your career while experiencing the unique buzz of teaching. You’ll explore how to make learning exciting, before heading into a school to lead a session in your subject.
Passion. It’s infectious. And whether it’s geography or languages you’re into, there’s no feeling like passing that passion on to someone else.
This summer, why not share your enthusiasm for your subject with school children, many of whom might not know anyone who went to university. Your experience could truly inspire them. Along the way, you’ll develop some of the key skills we and other top employers look for when recruiting. And who knows, you might just spark a lightbulb moment…
What will I be doing?
The week starts with two days in our London office, where you’ll get to know Teach First and the work we do to end education inequality. You’ll also dive into what modern-day teaching is like, the theory that makes learning stick and how Teach First’s eight competencies help us spot teaching potential.
For the next two days you’ll be in one of our London partner schools meeting teachers and observing lessons, before running a session of your own with pupils ready to learn.
On the final day we’ll come back together to reflect on your experience and find out how you can get ahead with your application to our Leadership Development Programme.
When is it?
Inspire takes place from Monday 8 July to Friday 12 July 2019.
Applications are now open exclusively for those studying a Languages or have two MFL A-levels at a B grade or above.
If your application is successful we’ll invite you to the next stage of our selection process. If you’ve got any questions in the meantime, please email us.
