Axis Bioservices Limited is a contract research organisation with specialist capabilities in oncology and angiogenesis. Axis currently has a staffing compliment of 18 with the majority of those employees from the field of Biomedical Science. The Company offers preclinical services to the Pharmaceutical industry, small biotechs and University based research centres. These services are mainly the testing of novel therapeutics in vivo and in vitro and encompasses a raft of different models such as pharmacokinetics, tolerability, efficacy and metastatic studies among others. The Company has developed relationships with several partners offering other services such as bioanalysis, Immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry. The Company is expanding its field of knowledge in the Oncology, Inflammation and Respiratory Disease areas and is unique in its ability to tailor the services it provides to the needs of the client.
The Company, in collaboration with Ulster University, has established a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) and is offering an exciting opportunity for a graduate to work as a KTP Associate in helping to create a new image-based solution for in vitro pre-clinical tumour measurement.

Applicants should hold an honours degree in Computing Science) Electronic Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a closely related discipline at 2:1 or above. Also, they should hold a MSc in computer vision/image processing or up to 30 months completion of a PhD with significant computer vision/image processing components. He/she should have good skills and experience in computer programming and image processing and be able to demonstrate a high level of oral and written communication and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The appointment will be for a period of 14 months and the post is based at Ulster University's Magee Campus.
