The Role

The Operations Team at NBCGF performs various middle and back office functions for the business. Its purpose to support the Front Office by ensuring accurate processing, settlement and recording of transactions take place to allow us to function efficiently as a business.

The current operating model within NBCGF Ops is that the team assimilate any SME related knowledge and functions/responsibilities are routinely rotated.

For this role the Chief Operations Officer is looking for an entry level Analyst with a keen desire to work in Finance, the individual’s responsibilities will expand over time to cover other operation for various business lines such as Securities Lending and Borrowing, OTC Derivative products, Corporate Actions, Reconciliations and Cash processing. The role demands an individual with high energy and strong attention to detail.
Experience in Securities Lending and OTC derivatives is desirable but not essential. All training will be provided however the individual must be able to work as part of a team, be highly motivated and capable of working under pressure.
There are no silo’s in the ops group, rotation of tasks occurs frequently to allow individuals exposure to all processes and promote versatility among the team.

Summary of the Key Purposes of the Role:

  • Become an Operations SME for the various business lines upon which we transact. Including Securities Borrowing & Lending and OTC derivatives processing, specifically Total Return Swaps
  • Assist in Pre-matching and fails management on a global basis, covering all Fixed Income and Equity product types
  • Responsibility for managing, controlling, preparing and escalating risk within the scope of your position.
  • Responsible for cash and stock break resolution within the strict deadlines of the department daily
  • Active involvement in new business lines and trading activities.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Pre-matching and fails management across all markets where NBCGF are active, covering Fixed Income and Equity SBL and Total

Return SWAP activities

  • Trade Settlement input and monitoring
  • Securities lending and OTC collateral exposure management
  • Corporate Action and Dividend Key date monitoring
  • Cash Payment reconciliation and transaction processing
  • Legal Confirms tracking and execution
  • Securities Finance Billing/Fees & Rebates
  • Triparty Collateral exposure and instruction management
  • Flexible in working hours to cover various shifts, covering EMEA, NAM and APAC Markets
  • Responsible for cash and stock break resolution within the strict deadlines of the department on a daily basis allocated to Dublin
  • To generate and investigate all incoming , outgoing interest claims and market penalties in a timely manner
  • Any ad-hoc tasks as determined by the Chief Operations Officer
  • To follow settlement procedures and processes set by management at all times
  • Ensure Escalation procedures are followed at all times
  • Responsibility for ensuring that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal Policies that relate to you, your business or other businesses for which you have any level of responsibility. It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with operational risk requirements (e.g. security policies and regulatory requirements).
  • Responsibility for managing, controlling, preparing and escalating risk within the scope of your position.
  • Responsibility for reading, understanding and complying with the Company’s Conduct and Standards and corresponding regulations. You will be notified of changes to policies in a timely manner through announcements from the Compliance Team and CCO.
  • Act with integrity and due skill, care and diligence in carrying out your duties. Your actions should always be able to satisfy high standards of scrutiny.
  • Observe proper standards of market conduct. Responsibility to ensure that you take reasonable steps to be fully aware of, understand and comply with all regulatory requirements from all regulatory bodies that are applicable to your business.

Competencies:

  • A clear drive to work in the Financial Services industry
  • Previous experience within securities lending or OTC derivatives desired but not essential
  • Understand the importance of escalation and operational risk
  • Ability to work under pressure, be able to handle conflict in a cutting edge environment
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • MS Excel and Outlook competent – required
  • Ability to build effective working relationship with Traders/Counterparties/Settlement Agents and other internal departments
  • Be a team player
  • Ability to express themselves in a clear and precise manor
  • Be able to work under their own initiative
  • Good time management skills
  • Responsible employee who takes ownership and demonstrates a “Can-Do” attitude in their daily role
