Graduate Electrical Engineer

Continuous investment has seen an increase in automation throughout the Lurgan site and as such, is a challenging & rewarding company to work for.  To continue to expand our technical expertise we have an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our progressing engineering team.

The Role

This role will be to provide Electrical, Control and Automation support for our site, both on new projects and for the existing plant. Key responsibilities will be wide ranging and will include the following:

  • Prepare project plans and budget for assigned engineering projects
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to determine the scope of projects and advise on engineering solutions
  • Contribute to Project and Capital Expenditure proposals, providing appropriate information to support fabrication and demonstrate payback
  • Plan installation and commissioning activities
  • Develop engineering solutions
  • Innovate and improve engineering practices to ensure machine performance is effective

The Person

Essential Criteria:

  • Educated to BEng or MEng level in Electrical/Mechatronic Engineering or similar 
  • Experience in electrical engineering design
  • Previous electrical engineering experience gained through university projects
  • You will have a good working knowledge of HV Distribution, AC/DC drives and PLC's
  • Strong experience of project work
  • Computer literate & fully competent in Microsoft Office

Desirable Criteria:

  • Must be a strong team player
  • Ability and confidence to discuss engineering issues with people across various levels and disciplines
  • Understanding analytical techniques such as FMEA, Six Sigma and Lean
