Software Developer - Mallon Technology NI Ltd
Who we are:
Mallon Technology has been operating since 1995, headquartered in Cookstown with a secondary office in Dublin. We provide organisations across the UK and Ireland with the expertise and support to help them better understand and exploit their geographic information. We provide a complete range of Geographic Information System (GIS), mapping, consultancy and support services that assist public and private sector organisations to access the potential of their geographic information in support of strategic business decisions e.g. where to locate key public sector infrastructure. The role will be based between remote working and the Cookstown Office.
What the role will involve:
A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a system designed to capture, store, and visualise spatial or geographic data. Traditional GIS systems are two-dimensional and are limited.
This project proposes to utilise new technologies like Web 3D Service (W3DS) and the Web View Service (WVS) to enhance our end user visualisations. The introduction of these technologies will enable us to create product offerings which are 3D in nature such as (1) the evaluation of potential antenna positions for telecommunications networks (2) 3D underground proximity analysis for major civil engineering projects such as tunnelling (3) Air spread pollution analysis to visualise the dispersion of gases. The project will also entail the overhaul of the client-side mapping and API alongside the 3D visualization.
As well as an attractive salary offering of £25,000 to £30,000 (based on experience), the successful graduate will lead this 12 Month project, in a supportive partnership with Athlone Institute of Technology and will also have the opportunity to study for a Post Grad Diploma in Business & Management as part of the employment package.
