New Product Development - Boxty House Ltd

Who we are…..

Boxty House is a food manufacturing business, brewery and restaurant serving over 2000 meals per week. The business has a strong focus on natural ingredients and artisan food products from Ireland, underpinning the Boxty House experience. A key part of the Boxty business is the flexible food manufacturing unit in Tallaght, whichsince Covid 19 restrictions attributes to 100% of the company’s turnover. Currently it makes dishes for private label customers such as a variety of retailers in Ireland, including Aldi and Lidl. Since March the Tallaght kitchens have repositioned Boxty House as a ‘Dark Kitchen’ operating on a delivery or click and collect basis. It has developed a new brand specialising in Irish free range chicken which it will launch the week of Octeber 19th 2020.

What the role will involve…….

Boxty has identified an opportunity for the business to convert some of the most popular restaurant dishes into ready meals for the retail market as a response to Covid 19 as it already has in place a great team of talented chefs who produce excellent quality products and a wide range of large-scale equipment which could be utilized to produce the ‘Boxty’ premium ready meal range. To enable the business to complete this effectively Boxty House would like to establish and embed a structured New Product Development (NPD) system within the business to enable it to develop a range of ready meals with a strong focus on Irish produce. The first product the company would like to develop is an ‘Irish Stew’ specifically targeting the tourist and export markets, followed by a ‘Beef Stew’ and ‘Dublin Coddle’.
