Student Industrial Placement / Internship Programme. 2021/2022.
Semple & McKillop has opened its Student Programme and are accepting applications for industrial placement and internships. While the Programme is for 12 months, applications from students who require 6-8 months placement shall also be considered.
The successful student(s) shall have an interest in mechanical and/or electrical design of services within the built environment or electrical power engineering. S/he shall be completing a degree in Building Services, Electrical, Mechanical or other relevant Engineering
The post holder shall:
Work under the direct supervision and mentorship of a Senior Chartered Engineer;
Join a strong Team of professional engineers across our offices;
Work on projects from initial concept through to completion;
Gain experience in client meetings, outline and detailed design, product specification, cost management and inspection of services on site;
Provide support for projects as varied as Community Care and Treatment Centres, to new build Colleges, to designing services for The Game of Thrones tourist attraction;
Develop a knowledge of Building Information Modelling and skills in Autocad Revit and a wide range of specialist and modelling software.
The post holder(s) shall be based in either our Belfast or Monaghan office.

- A statement, of no more than 400 words, outlining what you expect to achieve from your placement.
- An up-to-date Curriculum Vitae.
- Details for two referees. One of these should be your Head of Department/Senior Tutor. The second should preferably be someone who can comment on your suitability for this Programme.
The above 3 requirements must be returned with your application for it to be considered.
