ABP Food Group

What is ABP Food Group?

ABP Food Group is one of Europe’s leading food processors, providing quality beef to thousands of customers across the world. We employ over 9,000 people across the group, and have developed a global reputation for quality, efficiency and innovation.

Our core business – ABP Beef – is supported by our renewables, pet food and proteins divisions, which ensure that the value of our by-products is maximised, and that our environmental impact is minimised.

Our Opportunities

We offer a progressive, supportive and friendly working environment with regular opportunities to progress. In return, we expect our people to support our business objectives and demonstrate our values by working hard and building positive relationships with colleagues, customers and partners. From the beginning of your career, we believe it’s vital that you feel part of the team, and will integrate you into the company as soon as possible.

Your management team will give you a tour of the site and specific training for your role. Every employee has a minimum three-month probationary period, followed by an annual appraisal. It is our aim to develop our people, whilst delivering excellence for our customers, so you can earn while you learn, grow in confidence and develop your career with structured training programmes.

Graduate Programme

What can our graduate scheme offer you?

As soon as you start, we’ll assign you a supervisor, who will help you decide what you want from your career with ABP Food Group. The outcome of this discussion is captured in your development plan, which determines the time you spend on the programme. This can be anywhere from two to five years depending on your role.

As you move through the programme, we’ll provide you with training courses, college modules and workshops. An important aspect of the programme is monitoring and tracking your performance through regular appraisals with your supervisor and mentor, concluding with a final review. We are proud of our 90% retention rate among our graduates. Many of our graduates have progressed into senior management positions within ABP Ireland after completion of the graduate programme.
