Church of Ireland College of Education
The Church of Ireland College of Education (CICE) was established under its current name in 1972. In 1974 a three-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree course was introduced. From 2010 CICE took over all teaching on the B.Ed programme following the signing of a new agreement with its accrediting body, the University of Dublin. CICE and Dublin City University (DCU) signed a linkage agreement in January 2015 and DCU became the sole accreditor of the three programmes on offer in CICE: the B.Ed degree, the Post-Graduate Diploma in Learning Support / Special Educational Needs and the Master of Education (Special Educational Needs). In 2016, the CICE became incorporated into Dublin City University.
