Aimed primarily at business graduates or holders of equivalent professional qualifications this part-time masters programme is aimed at those working in retail or services organisations who want to deepen their understanding of retail business processes and broaden their perspective on retail management with a view to improving their career prospects.
The programme engages the student in a critical examination of a range of retail issues and specialisms in addition to a focussed review of several critical boardroom-level topics involving broad strategic questions of business policy and direction.
The MBS is offered Part-Time over two years (five semesters) and also in Full-Time mode over one calendar year. In both modes, students take thirteen modules some of which are electives. The part-time programme modules are delivered on one afternoon/early evening a week but, in addition, there is a full Themed Week On-campus in late January and an International Retailing Study Tour in late May of the first year and a Research focused on-campus week in late January of the second year. These full-weeks are mandatory and form part of the assessed learning content of the programme.
