Business Strategy

Course Description
This 1-year part-time course is aimed at developing the strategic thinking skills of managers and leaders and at enhancing their understanding of strategy and business planning in practice.

The course aims to provide learners with the relevant skills and abilities to critically compare business models and diagnose key strategic issues for various industries; develop a strategy and an in-depth financial plan for a proposed project (including a risk assessment), and strategically communicate this plan to relevant stakeholders.

The Strategy Module is run as a oneweek intensive session in collaboration with Heilbronn University, Germany and the participants participate in an advanced business simulation. There are follow up assignments the participants have to complete as well.

Who Should Apply?
This programme should be of interest to practicing industry managers or those who seek to improve their performance through the implementation of key theories, techniques and practical application of new strategic approaches within their existing organisation.

Entry requirements

Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicants should typically have a degree level qualification (at Level 8) (or equivalent) in a business related discipline, OR a sufficient academic record along with a minimum of 3 years industry or management experience. International students must have a minimum level of English equivalent to IELTS 6.5.

Course Delivery
One day per week per week plus a one week residential for one year On alternate years, the residential is held abroad in Germany.

Career Opportunities
On completion of this course learners will have a greater understanding of their own strengths as well as those of their colleagues; they will become empowered to use enhanced strategic business planning concepts and theories, develop plans and devote time to strategic planning in the future. Participants who successfully complete this course can progress to the MBS in Entrepreneurship and Marketing.
