Nursing - Certificate in Adult Respiratory Nursing Practice

Course Description
The aim of the programme is to enhance nurses' evidence based knowledge, skills and competencies for the challenges of supporting individuals experiencing acute or chronic conditions of the respiratory system.

Nurses undertaking this programme will critically examine the assessment and management of respiratory disorders within the context of their own practice so that they can provide timely, optimal, collaborative and compassionate care to enhance client outcomes and improve quality of life.

Who Should Apply?
Registered nurses working in a variety of settings who are working with clients with respiratory conditions. This programme offers registered nurses an opportunity to engage in evidence based, patient centred, and responsive respiratory care.

Entry requirements

Minimum Entry Requirements

Participants must be:
Registered Nurse with NMBI
Currently employed in health care provision
Applicants will normally hold a level 8 qualification.
Applicants who do not have a level 8 qualification may apply for entry to the programme in accordance with the procedures outlined in the DkIT Recognition of Prior Learning Policy.

Applicants may be interviewed.

Duration

Course Delivery
One semester using a blended learning format that combines face to face classes with online delivery.
