This postgraduate programme brings theory to life through its exciting work placement element and applied learning focus, enabling participants to apply acquired knowledge and competencies in a real-world workplace environment.

There is a four-month industrial placement which takes place from May to August, affording the student a unique opportunity to implement and reflect on the theories learned on the programme. Work placement is recognised by prospective employers and students alike as being a very sought-after aspect of an academic programme.

The Master of Business programme is designed to produce creative, flexible and dynamic individuals, equipped with the skills to take up or enhance roles as business practitioners. A Master of Business is an internationally recognised qualification and opens the door to many careers.

Entry requirements

Graduates of programmes in Engineering, Science, Design and other disciplines are required to have completed the Higher Diploma in Business in Management (Level 8) or equivalent to be eligible for admission to the MB programme.

For non-native English speakers: IELTS (6.0) or equivalent is required.

Exit Award The MB and Postgraduate Diploma (Embedded Exit Award) programmes are designed for graduates of Bachelor of Business Honours Degrees (Level 8) or equivalent. Students who successfully complete 60 credits of the MB programme will be eligible for the Postgraduate Diploma in Business (Level 9) should they opt to leave the programme.

• Supporting documentation such as Examination Transcripts, Employment Details, Personal Statements etc can be emailed to postgradadmissions@itcarlow.ie

• Applicants due to take examination in Summer 2017 must forward transcripts of results as soon as they become available

How are the Masters/Postgraduate/Higher Diploma applications evaluated?

Where demand for programme places exceeds supply, all eligible applicants will be ranked in accordance with their academic and/or academic equivalent experience. Entry requirements are outlined in the course information details.

• Applicants are advised to review the status of their Masters/Postgraduate/Higher Diploma application regularly.

• Applicants eligible for a place offer will receive an email advising them to check the status of their application on the IT Carlow website

• There will be a facility to Accept place offers online

• The Institute will issue a formal letter to all Applicants who have accepted a place offer at the beginning of August 2017.

• Some additional offers may be made mid-August 2017

Course fee

This programme is not eligible for Free Fees. Programme Fees 2016/17 €5,500. Fees under review for 2017/18.
