MSC IN Computing with Options Cloud & Mobile/Data Analytics/IT Management (NFQ Level 9)

Who is this course for?
This course is for IT Professionals wishing to upskill in one of the three themes of the programme. The flexible programme design allows participants select those modules which best suit their interests and career development needs.

The combination of excellent modules in areas of current industry needs aligned to a dissertation give you the chance to expand your skill and knowledge range while also giving an opportunity to demonstrate your ability to develop novel work.

Course Summary
Modules are available on a two year cycle. Students are advised to take two modules per semester and take their dissertation module in the fourth semester. The list of modules available and schedule is shown below.

Entry requirements

A BSc (Hons) in Computing (Level 8), 2nd class honours grade 2 (2.2) minimum or an Honours Bachelor's Degree (Level 8) in a scientific, mathematical or equivalent discipline, 2nd class honours grade 2 (2.2) minimum, subject to relevant work experience. All applicants must have competence in spoken and written English in accordance with Institute admissions regulations.

Candidates may be interviewed to determine eligibility.

Choice of Specialisation
The student can choose from Data Analytics / Cloud and Mobile Computing / IT Management. For each stream you must complete Research Methods (10) plus a relevant Dissertation (30) plus the mandatory module for that stream.

Course fee

Total cost of course (60 credits) is €5000
(€1750 year 1 and €3250 year 2)

Please Note
You will be required to pay a €100 application fee with your application. If you are not offered a place on the course your application fee will be refunded. If you are offered a place on the course your fee will be put towards you full course fees. If you do not accept the offered place you will forfeit the application fee.

The balance of fees due are as follows:
On acceptance of place - €550
Payment of half your course fees due by 31 October 2018.
Payment of full fees due by 31 January 2019.
