Instructional Design & Technology

This course is designed to prepare graduates to further their skills and education in direct applications of new and emerging technology for teaching, learning, training and/ or curriculum development. These graduates will be already working in the field of technology or in curriculum development/training in ICT, higher education, and/or a corporate business setting.

On completion of this course the graduate:
• will be well versed in ICT skills;

• will use this programme to extend their undergraduate subject matter experience to develop instructional content for online delivery, mobile learning or competency based education;

• will understand the curriculum development process for training in multimedia environments for a multitude of business or educational settings. The graduate will also become an instructional technologists competent to teach colleagues how to integrate new and emerging technologies to support learning).

Entry requirements

Applicants are required to have an honours bachelor degree at a minimum of 2:2 level in the following areas:
• Information technology or cognate field of study; OR
• Other field of study and significant experience of information technology in an education setting. The Institute’s policy in relation to non-standard applicants also applies.
