Marketing Management

Your Course The programme content of this MSc is aimed at preparing graduates for a variety of marketing positions in business. This programme will assist students in becoming knowledgeable about a range of marketing subjects to an advanced level; developing analytical, oral and written presentation skills; acquiring and being able to use accepted research methodologies; and developing personal confidence.

The programme consists of lectures, projects, case studies and presentations in the required subjects. A range of assessment methods are used, including essays, projects, reports, presentations, case studies and/or written examinations. Examples of modules include Strategic Marketing; Selling and Sales Management; and Brand Management.

Entry requirements

Minimum Entry Requirements
Normally a Second Class Honours undergraduate degree, usually a Grade 1, or a H2.1 in the Higher Diploma in Business Studies, is required (or equivalent international qualification). IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent, if applicable. Applicants who hold a very high 2.2 and who have achieved a 2.1 average within a significant marketing specialism in a business degree, may be considered.

The programme is open to graduates of all disciplines. Applicants from a non-business/marketing degree background, applying as a conversion programme, are required to successfully complete an online Principles of Marketing course, as specified by the Marketing Discipline, prior to commencement of studies.

Duration

1 year, full-time; 2 years part-time.

Career Opportunities
Graduates build careers in a wide variety of industry sectors and organisations, including pharmaceutical companies, publishing companies, banks, consumer products companies, business to-business, and non-profit organisations. Colleges, libraries, hospitals and art organisations are increasingly hiring marketing professionals to manage their diverse marketing activities. Other fields to consider are business development, marketing management, market research, strategic marketing, account management, customer relations management, customer service, retail, and public relations consultancy.
