Theory / Practice of Counselling: Adolescent and Young Adult Development & Pastoral Skills
The core content of this module will facilitate participants in acquiring some of the basic insights and skills to enable them in particular to assist in the personal development of the adolescent and young adult population of the school/education community. Participants will engage with major counselling theories, research on adolescent and young adult development and develop practical counselling skills to address issues including depression, anger, guilt and bullying. It will offer practical advice on the development of healthy relationships.

Module Structure
All on-line modules have a weighting of 15 ECTS. All modules are completed within one semester.
Students may wish to exit with one standalone module or Postgraduate Certificate (completion of two modules or 30 ECTS), Postgraduate Diploma (completion of four modules or 60 ECTS).
Participants may also progress to MA level on successful completion of three modules or 45 ECTS.
