Volunteer Management and Leadership

This programme sets volunteer management within the context of effective volunteer resource planning, strategic operations, communications, leadership skills, governance and compliance. The programme is designed for those in volunteer management roles or those involved in managing volunteers in the wider community. It aims to equip students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills, supported through reflecting on their own experience, to lead and manage volunteers in a variety of community, voluntary, non-profit, public and private sector contexts.

This is the only programme of its kind on the island of Ireland to focus specifically on volunteer management, balancing between the theoretical principles of volunteering and practical elements of managing and leading volunteers. The programme is designed in partnership with Volunteer Ireland and Volunteer Now (Northern Ireland).
