What is... Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance & Biotechnology?
TU258 MSc Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance and Biotechnology (Full Time): This programme is offered on a one year full—time basis followed by a 6 months industry based dissertation. It is designed to provide a bridge for graduates with a degree in science or related disciplines to the specific requirements of the pharmaceutical sector. The programme offers a broad based curriculum covering aspects of quality assurance, auditing, manufacturing and pharmaceutical science and biotechnology.

Course Content
The lecture course is divided into twelve modules of 20 hours each. Full-time students undertake twelve modules over two semesters. On successful completion of the twelve modules, students will undertake a 6 months industrially based dissertation.

Please note:
There is a dissertation component to the MSc which is carried out while the student is working. It is the responsibility of the student to find work.

Entry requirements

Minimum Entry Requirements?
Honours bachelor degree in science or related discipline at 2.2 grade or higher or equivalent qualification. Selection will be by interview.

Note: Due to the considerable competition for our postgraduate programmes satisfying the minimum entry requirement is not a guarantee of a place. Depending on the programme of study applications will be assessed based on your academic grades and may also take into account your work/life experience. Applicants will also be required to attend for interview.

If you apply before 13th January 2020, interviews will take place during the week of 20th January 2020. If you apply between 13th January & 14th April, interviews will take place during the week of 20th April 2020. Interviews after this date will be subject to availability. You will be notified of the outcome within 2 weeks of interview.

Personal Statements are required for this programme. Please remember to include this with your application.

If English is not your first language you will need to provide evidence of your English language proficiency as detailed on our website. Applicants for this programme should have a minimum IELTS (Academic Version) English Proficiency of 6 overall (or equivalent) with nothing less than 6 in each component.

Duration

1 year full-time.

Method of Delivery: Classroom.

Schedule: Full-time students will normally have an average of fourteen contact hours per week. The modules are normally delivered on 2 mornings, 2 afternoons, 2 evenings and a Saturday morning. The exact timetable will be confirmed before the commencement of each semester.

Graduates of the course are well equipped to take up positions as quality professionals and managers in the pharmaceutical and related industries.
